Overview

The ACERWC established the Working Group on Communications at its 47th Ordinary Session in April 2026 to strengthen the handling of complaints on violations of children’s rights under Article 44 of the African Children’s Charter. The Group reviews and analyzes communications, advises the Committee on admissibility and merits, ensures compliance with procedural standards, and prepares reports informed by robust legal research. Its membership is drawn from Committee experts with legal backgrounds, supported by the Country Rapporteur for the State concerned, serving a two‑year term.
